Sultan Nasir ud-Din II (1645–1648)

Either Sultan Muwallil Wasit's son who ruled following his father's defeat at the hands of the Spaniards at Jolo, or believed to be the Sultan Qudarat[ref?] who became sultan by virtue of his marriage to the previous sultan's daughter, after which the throne reverted to Wasit once again, after a certain Sarikula died in 1648. The 32rd Sulu Sultan Jamalul Kiram II, the last Sulu sovereign. Alternate name: Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Kiram He is the younger brother of Badarud-Din II. [1] He was  Raja Muda (Crown Prince) Amirul Kiram and said to have "fought and suffered so long for the throne of his father and brother, succeeded Sultan Harun al-Rashid and assumed the name of Sultan Jamalul Kiram II." [3] He was proclaimed Sultan of Sulu by his followers in 1884 as the son of the 29th Sultan Jamal ul-Azam. According to some sources, his real name was Amirul Kiram Awal-II. [1] His proclamation as sultan was contested by Datu Ali ud-Din, a grandson of Sultan Shakirullah, but without any success. Aliud-Din was forced to flee to Basilan. Sultan Harun Ar-Rashid (1886–1894)

A descendant of Alim ud-Din I, through Datu Putong. [1] "Datu Harun went to Manila alone and Governor Arolas recommended his appointment as sultan. Governor-General Terrero cabled to Madrid and obtained authority for this action on September 11, 1886. Harun was officially announced in Manila as Sultan of Sulu, and his appointment on the 24th of September was made the occasion of some formality. Shariful Hashim [1457-1480]

He is thought-to-be a royal import. Many claims he is from Malacca Sultanate, either he is from the latter's royal family or not is a subject of another post. Who became known as Paduka (Royal) Maha (Great) sari (lit, strip of cloth; fig, of royal descent)  Maulana (Lord Master) Sultan (Ruler) Sharif [1] ul Hashim, the first sultan and the founder of the unified Sultanate of Sulu, started as Sayyid Abubakar. As he is not a native of Sulu, he gained political access by marrying Paramisuli, the daughter of pre-sultanate ruler, Rajah Baguinda. [2] (In yet another post, we will explain that both "Rajah Baguinda" and "Paramisuli" are possibly Sanskrit-derived Malay royal titles than proper names.)
